Register your child for any of our summer camp programs now through June 10, 2019 using the form below. Registration includes a free Summer @ Pope Prep t-shirt for all participants!

Once registered, payment must be made by Monday, June 17 to confirm your space in the program.

Accepted methods of payment are:

  • A personal check made out to Pope Francis Preparatory School. Please note “Summer Camp” in the memo. Mail or bring checks to 99 Wendover Road, Springfield, MA 01118.
  • Credit Card payments can be made by calling 833-999-7673 ext. 3201.

Registration is finalized when payment is received. Summer @ Pope Francis Prep Camp reserves the right to cancel any of the camp programs if a minimum enrollment is not achieved. Participants will be notified by June 11 if a program is cancelled.

Cancellation by participants can be made until June 11 with a full refund.  Cancellations made after June 11 will not be eligible for a refund.

Programs for Week of July 8 - July 12

Tennis Camp (for students entering grades 5 -8)

The Enfield Tennis Club professionals will teach participants to play tennis or improve their skills.  The clinic will focus on fundamentals – strokes, strategies & match play! This program is perfect for beginners to intermediate experience level players.

Daily: 8:45 am – 12 noon

All participants should bring a large water bottle and snacks for the morning and be prepared with sunscreen.  Loaner racquets will be available if needed.

In case of rain, program will be moved indoors to the beautiful high school gym.

Cost: $175.00

 

Algebra Boot Camp (for students entering grades 6-10)

A Workout for Your Brain!

If your child feels that they do not like Algebra and think that they are not very good at it, then this program is for them! During the week-long immersive program, students wishing to prepare a foundation for high school coursework in mathematics and preview the material for the upcoming school year will be provided a head start in first year algebra.

Students will look at Algebra in a more positive and confident manner, and be better prepared to succeed in learning Algebra. This program will cover the major components of algebra and is taught in a fun and interactive way!

Daily: 8:30am – 11:00am

Programs for Week of July 15 - July 19

3-D Printing Camp (for students entering grades 6-10)

The technology of 3D printing is exploding across numerous industries from 3D-printed homes to healthcare devices and components used in space craft and aircraft.  Learn how at 3-D Printing Camp!

Participants will be introduced to the exciting world of 3-D printing. Students will learn how to 3-D model with Tinkercad or Autodesk Fusion 360, feel comfortable going through the 3-D printing process with a Flashforge Finder 3-D Printer and slicing application, and think like a product designer. By the end of the course students will develop skills in Design Thinking and invent a product that solves a real-life problem.

Daily: 8:30am – 11:00am

Theater Camp (for students entering grades 5 -9)

The theater department at Pope Francis Prep is excited to educate and support the next generation of excellence in young performers by offering a Theater Camp.  Under the direction of Mr. John Anziano, Fine Arts Director at Pope Francis Prep, this camp will focus on basic theater training and students will learn basic acting skills, set design, costumes, lighting, sound design and prop design. Students will gain a greater appreciation of live theater and the arts in general by promoting valuable life lessons such as confidence, collaboration, and communication skills. The week will conclude with a short performance by the participants on Friday, July 19 at 1pm. Campers should bring their own lunch. Refrigeration will be provided.

Study Skills Camp (for students entering grades 9-12)

Being a good student requires special skills before you enter the classroom, while you are in class, and after you leave class. Learn how at Study Skills Camp!

This program will focus on helping students gain tools and knowledge to increase their academic success. Students will discover their personal learning style and will learn how to use this knowledge to make studying more effective and efficient. Note taking, organizational skills and study hints and tips will be taught. Students will gain concrete ways to improve their approach to increasing success in school and achieving their academic goal … and have fun!

Daily: 8:30am – 11:00am

Cost: $150.00

 

Baseball Camp (for students entering grades 1 – 8)

1/2 day: Grades 1 and 2, 9am – 11:30pm

Full day: Grades 3-8, 9 am – 3:30pm

Calling all baseball players – Don’t miss the First Annual Cardinals Youth Baseball Camp!

The camp will be divided into three separate groups of athletes entering 1st and 2nd grade in the first group, those entering 3rd – 5th grades in the second, and those entering 6th – 8th in the third. The camp will be held at the new baseball field and facilities at the Pope Francis Prep campus!

Group 1 (1st and 2nd graders) will feature a half day from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. and the cost will be $150

Groups 2 and 3 (3rd – 8th grades) will participate in a full day from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. and the cost will be $275.

On the first day, players should check in about 30 minutes prior to the start of camp for registration purposes. Campers should bring their own lunch. Refrigeration will be provided.

The daily schedule is broken up into two sessions, with the morning consisting of primarily defensive work and the afternoon focusing on the offensive side of baseball. We will take the campers through many of the same routines and drills that our high school players go through. The campers will receive technical instruction at each position followed by drills to emphasize and practice the points that were just discussed. There will also be two different instructional games throughout the course of the day.  The camp will be led by the area’s top baseball minds with extensive college baseball experience as both players and coaches.

Boys Basketball Camp (for students entering grades 3-8)

Daily: 9:00am – 3:00pm with Friday, 8/9 ending at 1:00pm

Cost: $185.00

Participants will receive intensive training and learn the skills of the game from experienced coaches and be given an opportunity to improve their own while playing competitive games daily.  Plus, fun contests and more! Campers should bring their own lunch. Refrigeration will be provided.

Soccer Camp (for students entering grades 6-8)

In its 41st year, Pantuosco’s Soccer Camp is now available at Pope Francis Prep! Players entering grades 6 – 8 will benefit from a beautiful new grass and field turf facility as well as experienced soccer coaching – a perfect setting for learning and playing soccer!  Pantuosco’s Soccer Camp offers a combination of  fun, education and competition for everyone that participates.  The program for Summer @ Pope Prep will focus on helping the player that already plays become more skilled and competitive.  Pantuosco’s Soccer Camp is thrilled to offer a new age group program at an amazing facility!
